Pinde Sandlana explores making as a means to document cultural narratives and as an exploration of transferring the significance of everyday objects. The Maker Library Workspace resident is a trained upholsterer, and the daughter of a sangoma. She’s embarked on a journey to record instruments and objects through photography, digital pattern making and printing.
The Maker Library Network is a Connect ZA initiated project connecting makers and designers around the world and will be hosting a series of workshops during I/ZA, which is in partnership with Fak’ugesi African Digital Innovation Festival in Johannesburg, 20 Aug - 12 Sep 2015.
